Dear ASPO member,
Registration of the ASPO conference at VU Amsterdam, 2017, is now open. Register at the members portal .
We hereby invite you to attend the annual ASPO conference, which will take place at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam on 14 and 15 December 2017. The ASPO conference is an ideal setting to meet and reconnect with other social psychologists, present your work, and stay up-to-date with recent research developments in social psychology in the Netherlands. The conference language is English, and we welcome submissions from both junior and senior researchers. We have confirmed Keynotes of Prof. Michael Norton (Harvard University) and Prof. David Amodio (University of Amsterdam).
We strongly encourage you to submit a proposal to present your work at the ASPO conference (Note that data collection and analysis should be completed at the time of submission!). You can submit one of three types of proposals:
- A. Symposium (up to 4 presentations)
Symposia should ideally combine junior and senior researchers from different universities. Usually a symposium consists of 4 presentations on a related topic. Other types of symposia are also possible however, such as a debate session or a panel discussion. Please include the following information in your proposal: A symposium title; names and affiliations of the organizers and of the authors; an Email address for correspondence; a general abstract; and a maximum of four specific abstracts (each one of up to 250 words).
- B. Individual presentation
This is a regular talk. Please include the following information in your proposal: A title for your presentation; names and affiliations of the authors; an Email address for correspondence; explicitly indicate “Individual presentation”; an abstract of up to 250 words.
- C. Poster presentation
The best poster presentation will be selected during the conference by the conference program committee, and will be awarded the Dancker Daamen award. Please include the following information in your proposal: A title for your presentation; names and affiliations of the authors; an Email address for correspondence; explicitly indicate “Poster presentation”; an abstract of up to 250 words.
The submission procedure is as follows:
- Submit your proposal for a symposium, individual presentation, or poster presentation (Word-file as attachment) to the following Email address before Friday 29 September 2017: ASPOVU2017@gmail.com .
- The program committee will select submissions. We aim to inform you whether your proposal was accepted or rejected by Email at or around 20 October 2017.
- Accepted proposals will be included in the conference program.
Please do not hesitate to contact us for further questions. We look forward to reading your proposals, and to seeing you all at the ASPO conference!
